We’re excited to announce the opening of Jessica Baldanza‘s Big Brother Must Be Bored at Drake Labs. It’s a series of paintings that explore the banal nature of urban existence through the lens of surveillance footage. Her desaturated palette and limited aesthetic information encourages the spectator to connect with the work to critically question the privacy or lack there of that our society affords us.
Jessica is a Studio Beat contributor has exhibited in galleries across Toronto including Arta Gallery, The Gladstone Hotel and TheBlackCat Artspace. She is set to complete her BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCADU this April.
Big Brother Must Be Bored opens on April 2nd with a reception from 6pm-9pm.
