We’re pleased to introduce our third Studio Beat Digital Residency artist, Anna Sophia Vukovich.
Vukovich is a Canadian-born, New Jersey-based artist who works in sculpture, painting, digital media and video. She is concerned with formal attributes and often pursues the relationship between music, painting and sculptural formalism simultaneously. Currently, she’s been exploring the ways in which music can be scored and for her inaugural post for her residency, she has produced a unconventional visual score.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Anna Sophia Vukovich received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Halifax (2008), where she participated in an exchange semester at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York (2008). She has shown her work in both solo and group exhibitions within Canada, and the United States. Anna-Sophia has been awarded residencies at the Banff Centre for the Arts (2013), and the Virginia Centre for Creative Arts (2010). She has won several cholarships and awards including the Mackenzie Fund Scholarship, MGSA State Funded Scholarship, and others. Anna-Sophia is a current MFA Candidate at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts.
