We are pleased to present Lauren Francescone, as our seventh Digital Artist-in-Residence. She will be making new work for a month and posting it on the site.
Lauren Francescone is an artist and designer based in Brooklyn. Her work has been exhibited internationally, most recently as part of Radical Plastic at the Cue Art Foundation in New York City. In 2015, she was a Summer Artist-In-Residence at the Banff Center. She is co-founder of the video screening series Video Snack and part-time lecturer at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. She received a BS in Architecture from The University of Virginia and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University. Lauren makes stunning ceramics, book works and video art. Her work presents objects as strange and uncanny. Both the ceramics and video works relate to interior spaces. Francescone works often at an intimate human scale; making her work relatable but distorted.
Follow Lauren’s work in the digital residency section of the site, HERE or click HERE to see the first post. We’re very excited to see what digital work she creates for the format of our site!
